2j1 deer?

Anybody hunting 2j1 see many deer this weekend? I saw about 50 pickups for every 1 deer I saw. Think g & f oversold that unit by a bunch from the looks of things....

Agreed ,  I quit counting on Friday , as I know I would have hit that number .  Do you know anyone who applied in 2J1 who didnt get a tag.

We have 10 of us that hunt that unit , there were 7 separate apps , we all got  buck tags . Not complaining but it usually takes us 4-5 years to get drawn,  It was 2 and 3 this year . We were wondering  if there was a computer screw up

Saw a few taken down, but there are a ton of unfilled tags out there yet

I have hunted that area for 23 yrs and this was the worst weekend so far.  I mainly work between 83 and 14 from 94 to 200.  My son his girlfriend and I walked the normal areas we have hunted and never kicked up a deer,  According to my watch we walked over 9 miles each day.  Some spots we always kicked up deer had practically no signs of deer.  I seen one gut pile even with nice weather seen lots of hunters walking but no deer moving.  We didn;t even go out sunday,  but my son and his girlfriend we one more drive on their way back to Fargo they found deer west of 3 asked a farmer to hunt he let them so he was able to fill his tag on his way home.  I agree raised the price this year and oversold.  I plan on trying again starting at 3 and working my way to 83.  I know it hunting not killing but when you don't see deer thats a different story.

Yep we put lots of boot miles on Sat.and with the snow up there not hard to tell if there is any deer around and most areas didn’t even have tracks. Like I said the other day I personally think way more hunters than deer in my opinion...

I went on Saturday for part of the day.  Saw about 10 deer.  There were a ton of vehicles around 6 a.m. when I was sitting and freezing my ass off waiting but then it slowed down.

Fish on~

I will tell you this much I ice fished some last year in the area and drove up 3 and can guarantee you there were deer along 3 all winter and I am not talking a few, herds of 50+ on each side of the hwy. Can't say where they are now but there was deer along the hwy for sure. Where they were herded it was big herds. dukgnfsn

I saw 5-6 guys walking all season. 1 set of tracks where road hunter poached a deer. We got 4 deer first 2 days. They're out there

There are lots of deer out there where I was. Saw 10 to 15 each day. Shot this one on Friday the 24th at about 5 pm. I have also hunted that area for over 20 years and always see plenty of deer.  Sorry about the pic, could not figure out how to turn it.

My two daughters had doe tags and my son in law had a buck tag.   One daughter filled at 3:30pm Friday North of Menoken.   Son in law filled his (Washburn area) at 4:00pm on opener.   My youngest shot hers the last Saturday North of Menoken.   Yes we were on Private land.   We prob saw a 100 deer (yes some were on the plot of land) but there is lots of deer.  IMO   If we would have a buck tag there was several opportunities for my youngest to harvest one.   We did no walking only sitting early mornings and evenings till legal shooting time ended.
