Does anyone have any experience with any wireless trail cameras (verizon)? Ones you love? Hate?
i have had good luck with the Verizon Spartan GoCams. once I figured out where the weak spots in the system were, and addressed them, they have been great cameras for me. if you buy one, do not buy the 3G model, as they will be obsolete at the end of 2019. There will likely be some "deals" out there on the 3G cameras without any mention of the pending shutdown of the 3G network.
If you have specific questions feel free, either on here or in private.
Question - for wireless cameras, do you need a separate Verizon cell phone account for the camera? Like you would, for example, a directly connected I Pad?
For the ones I have, they are added to an existing Verizon account as a connected device for $5 per camera per month. Data usage is pretty minimal.
Thanks uncle Rico. Not too expensive....kind of like adding an I Pad or tablet to an existing account. Does the camera forward pictures to you or can it send videos in real time too?
the ones I currently have use the 3G network, and they only transmit photos. I am waiting for some 4G cameras to arrive, and they have the ability to transmit video as well, although I've heard battery drain is significant with this.
P.S. buy an external 6V battery box. You will thank me later.
